Christmas
As everyone else celebrates christmas I celebrate easter. The use of the birth of christ (an entirely selfless man) to propigate greed makes me sick every year. Our society celebrates Jesus' birthday by giving each other gifts and not giving him much. But every year I thank God that he uses this event to bring people to church, feed the homeless and bring the focus back to him. I don't celebrate christmas because I like presents. I celebrate christmas because it points to the (in my opinion) bigger holiday - easter. Jesus came to the world as an innocent and stayed that way, knowing that he would have to be a living sacrifice for 30 years and then suffer and die because he cared.

Down with Christmas! :)
Where did you throw this up?
Don't worry Jamie I'm still accepting gifts. I put it up in my Mom's basement.
Me likey.
good message is that christs hand i can;t seem to make out what the other part is and good that your still excepting gifts but are you giving gifts? beautiful message kinda make me feel bad.
Tara
no, it's not christ's hand. Yes, I'm giving gifts but this year I've decided to have more of a focus on Jesus. Instead of giving a cute pair of slippers I'm giving a card that says a donation has beeen made on your behalf to a charity, insted of giving a box of chocolates I'm giving a christian CD, instead of a tea pot I'm giving a tea pot... I didn't get a chance to do it all this year but I hope that next year I'm going to give gifts that Jesus would be proud of instead of perpetuating comercialism.
attaboy... that's what i like to hear...
myself, i like to let people have the true joy of giving. i.e. i don't give, but i receive. none of that "let's exchange money or things we don't want or need"...
I really like this one...especially. Nice going!
Note to self for when I look back on this next year. Remember not only to buy gifts that make Jesus happy but when you write out your christmas list to ask only for things that can be used to make Jesus Happy.
