Hello Jonathan and Natalie, I was praying for guidance and I asked others to pray for me as well. Tonight a friend of mine said he felt from the Lord that I should make plans to go, so I'm planning on going. God has big plans for me still.
So, your friend "felt from the Lord," which is always nice. More importantly, I hope/assume that you and your wife both felt the same direction and this was only confirmation...
Nope, sorry to disappoint but the spider-sense wasn't tingling. I personally didn't feel anything and I know my wife wanted to go but she admitted to not praying about it. I was on the fence about it and was really asking God to let me know personally he didn't reveal anything to me. I'm just being honest with you but as I am writing this I feel the spirit on me letting me know He's with me, which is abnormal cuz I wasn't praying. I don't know what's ahead but I know He's with me.
Sure, the fact that you and Tara want to go is a great reason all by itself. I think the most important thing is that you both agree on this. Practical reasons are perfectly good for this kind of thing, we don't always need (or get) spiritual confirmation for things we should be doing anyway.
I'm just wary of doing something because someone else "feels" a message from God. For every correct prophecy out there, there's another 9 wrong prophecies...
So, after that fact: Was your friend's msg from God wrong?
Alternative Explanations: The original invitation was wrong, or the Korean pastors were wrong, or no one was wrong and God wanted to use this experience for...something vaguely good.
In my experience, I find that we tend to chalk up this stuff as "only God knows" and we miss the opportunity to learn something about God's voice...
Well his exact words were "I feel from the Lord that you should MAKE PLANS to go". Not that it really matters but his prophetic record could be saved by a technicality. I don't feel the need to place blame. However, the old closed door open window annalagy may work for this one cuz I'm making plans to go to New York and the AuGGust Gospel Graffiti Event too. Which were both going to be a bust cuz I was going to use all my vacation time on korea.

That is good news, about your other trips being open as a result!
