graffiti at church

I just got back from church where I was asked to speak about my graffiti, they had the communion table laid out with the wine and grape juice glasses and bread, a nice sash and... a can of spraypaint. It was fun just like I thought it would be. The speak is available here and for those ubber curious and I've posted my notes in the comment section. After, I took some members of a walking tour of the downtown alleys which they seemed to enjoy. I also went to Gateway church where I have donated some canvases which the church is now selling for $30 a pop with all proceeds going to overseas missions. If you show up next week at sir fredrick banting highschool by the Auquatic centre you can probably pick one up. That's about all, I'll be going to NY again this year so stay tuned for that. Peace!

Art is a reflection of our thoughts and feelings. It reflects our world view.
-story of my first experience with art

it gives a voice to our world view?
-story about carrying around paper in art class
-put it away
-graffiti in public space thousands of people look
-story of my first fan "favorite graffiti piece london"
-graffiti changed the drug alley

the better your art the more validity people give to your world view
-toys versus kings
-getting crossed and getting respect
-it shouldn't give more validity

what makes better art?
Francis Schaeffer suggests
-Good art is technically excellent
-honest
-has an intellectual content or a message
-integrates with the style. ---- 'cuz Jesus was on the street

so why is our worldview important?
Edward Gibbon wrote in 18th century the following five attributes
marked Rome at it's end
1. a mounting love of show and luxury
2. a widening gap between the very rich and very poor
3. an obsession with sex
4. freakishness in the arts masquerading as originality and
enthusiasms pretending to be creativity
5. an increased desire to live off the state

paul is instructing new pastor, a problem with the truth they are
accepting truth from a lot of different angles but they are loosing
the important truth of Jesus.

1 timothy 6:3-5
If anyone teaches otherwise and does not consent to wholesome words,
even the words of our Lord Jesus Christ, and to the doctrine which
accords with godliness, he is proud, knowing nothing, but is obsessed
with disputes and arguments over words, from which come envy, strife,
reviling, evil suspicions, useless wranglings of men of corrupt minds
and destitute of the truth, who suppose that godliness is a means of
gain. From such withdraw yourself
6:20-21
O Timothy! Guard what was committed to your trust, avoiding the
profane and idle babblings and contradictions of what is falsely
called knowledge— by professing it some have strayed concerning the
faith. Grace be with you. Amen.

You previously said it would be "sometime in the future," I didn't know it would be so soon. Next time you're speaking somewhere, let us know so we can support you, boyo. In the meantime, I'll keep an eye our for that podcast...
